How to Treat Anxiety
One of the biggest challenges when dealing with anxiety is the fear that you are losing your mind. You get exhausted asking yourself; why am I reacting in crazy ways to situations others laugh at?
Why can’t I handle pressure and stress like everyone else? Is there something wrong with my mind? How will my anxiety affect my career, my relationship, my family and my lifestyle?
Hopefully, the main thing that you understand at this stage is that there is nothing seriously wrong with you. It may feel like it, but you can rest assured that you are not going crazy. All that is happening is that your mind has been conditioned to react in an overly anxious manner to certain triggers, which you may not even be aware of.
Anxiety disorders are not permanent, and neither do they have to impact your lifestyle choices negatively. Overcoming anxiety is all about taking back control of how you react to triggers of anxiety. It’s possible, and many people can attest to this fact, that anxiety can be eliminated entirely if you make the right choices NOW.
Your Anxiety Is Reversible Only If You Choose Wisely
Given the right help and the correct approach, you can recover from what you are currently suffering from and put it all behind you. The most important thing is to seek and accept help from someone who has the skills and experience to help you. Step by step you can gain back control of your life.
Before you do that, there are some incredibly important choices that you need to make. You have the option of either going down the medical route with a wide range of anti-anxiety medications. However, if you read the chapters on anti-anxiety drugs in this resource, you will understand why I don’t recommend this route.
Alternatively, you have the option of taking the therapeutic route with a therapist who has a thorough understanding of anxiety and what really causes it. Ultimately, this is the best route to follow if you want to reverse your anxiety permanently. Working with the right therapist will save you from the dangerous side effects of potent, mind-altering drugs.
Don’t Mask Your Symptoms with Treatments That Never Work
If you read the chapter entitled; Why Most Anxiety Treatments Don’t Work, you will realise that understanding all of the ways that anxiety is triggered in the body and mind is necessary to ensure a permanent and lasting solution to anxiety. The reason why most anxiety treatments are destined to fail is simple; they do not address the REAL causes of anxiety.
Unless your treatment is designed to get to the ROOT of the problem, all you end up doing is making the problem worse. What’s more, you will waste your hard earned money on ineffective therapies, not to mention prolonging your pain and suffering unnecessarily.
Think carefully and scrutinise the value of treatments such as:
Counseling: Anxiety causes a lot of distress and even depression. It’s natural to think that counseling will make you feel better, or even help you avoid anxiety. Well, the truth is, counseling does not always work for anxiety sufferers as a lot of people find that purely talking about their anxiety can actually make it worse rather than better.
Counselling requires you to take the lead in finding solutions to your fears and phobias and irrational responses. Unfortunately, your unusual reaction to everyday experiences doesn’t allow you to understand and control your actions rationally.
Counseling may only mask your symptoms in the short term by giving you a shoulder to lean on. It CANNOT prevent your mind from reacting irrationally to anxiety triggers, which is the REAL cause of anxiety.
Yoga, Mindfulness, and Meditation: These practices can help you to manage your anxiety and keep it at bay. However, if your anxiety has you boxed in, mindfulness and meditation are not a straightforward thing to practice. Just think about it, anxiety makes you freak out with fear, so learning to stay calm won’t address the ROOT cause but only tries to bury your reactions. If you read the chapter called Why Most Anxiety Treatments Don’t Work you will understand why things like yoga and meditation aren’t always a reliable solution. You don’t want to manage your anxiety; you want to eliminate it.
Eliminating anxiety doesn’t mean eliminating your natural stress response. That is not possible. Remember what I said in the chapter What is Anxiety? Anxiety is the inappropriate triggering of the natural stress response. This is what we want to eliminate – the improper triggering of this stress response. It’s the only way to reverse anxiety completely.
I Know the Hell of Anxiety, So Let Me Help You Too
I can help you to get rid of your anxiety once and for all!
Anxiety can make your life a living hell and wreak havoc on your career and relationships!
Unless you have suffered from anxiety, it is almost impossible to understand how it can affect every part of your life.
I know this because for many years I suffered from anxiety.
My anxiety was triggered by a combination of some negative experiences in my life when I was bullied as a child, coupled with a stressful work environment when I was older.
I believed that the constant negative thoughts and internal dialogue that I was having were just part of who I was.
I was stressed, but then again I had a stressful job.
My obsessive approach to everything that I did in my life was the result of my all-or-nothing personality, and not anxiety or so I thought.
Work, hobbies, eating, smoking or drinking were all approached with the same “all-or-nothing” mentality, regardless of the positive or negative effects they had on my life.
This is how the symptoms of anxiety showed up in my life.
How are they showing up in yours?
Remember that everyone’s anxiety is different, but it has the SAME ROOT CAUSE.

I’ve Been Where You Are, And I Know What It Feels Like
If you aren’t comfortable with the idea of talking to someone or opening up about what’s going on inside your head, don’t worry. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been there too, and I know what it was like for me.
I felt ashamed that I didn’t know what was happening in my head and my body, and that I couldn’t stop it. But I learned a lot in the process. I learned how to face it and realised that there should be no shame in fighting anxiety.
Now I know that there shouldn’t be any stigma in asking for help or talking about your mental health. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
We should be eager to learn how to control our minds because it’s where we spend every day of our lives. In spite of this, we are never taught how to look after it in school, which leaves us at the mercy of what the world throws at us.
When you learn to take responsibility for your mental health, you acquire probably the most crucial skill in life; one that you will use every minute of your waking day. You will become mentally stronger and more resilient as a result while also mastering skills that most people never get an opportunity to learn.
But if you still feel uncomfortable talking to someone, then you can always take a look at my online program – Anxiety No More – The 3 Pathways Approach. Other than coming to see me, this is the best step that you can take to eliminate your anxiety PERMANENTLY.
